This is how winter should not look like
Usually we have freezing weather in February in Prague. Well, it's almost 20 C with a perfectly blue sky without a cloud, people are wearing shorts and short skirts with t-shirts and all parks are crowded.

Help me find the best
It was a sunny weekend in Prague. Vltava river was full of those boats. And I decided to start preparing a Christmas gift... a calendar with photos from this blog. My only difficulty is to choose the photos. So if you have a tip on a photo on your mind, please let me know. You can comment here or at that photo post. I would really appreciate it :)

Things to see from Charles Bridge other than Prague Castle

You can also see a boat from Charles Bridge. Or you can see Charles Bridge from a boat :)
Prague started big and a very very long reconstruction of Charles Bridge. It will be still open for tourists but it will be slowly under reconstruction. I think it will end in 2011 or so. Maybe later. They are reusing the old stones. The originals from Petr Parler from the 14th century. And when the stone is unusable, they will make a new one but in the old fashioned way. So it will look just like when the bridge was firstly finished in 1402.

Prague's weather update: it's hot, verrry hot - lets go boating

Ohh, do you have that incredibly hot weather, too? Not usual to have almost 40 degrees Celsius in Prague.
So I took this photo of people who "enjoy" the sunshine having nowhere to hide - while boating on Vltava river.
We did a quick quiz with our office neighbours today about what to do in this weather. *Visiting the pub and have a good cold beer* won. No other option came even close. Do I have to say Czech beer is the best in the word? No, I don't :)
And what do YOU do when the temperature goes this high? (If you're going to the beach I'm jealous already :)

There are boats on Vltava river

Just after I saw Jeremy's photo at Another Paris Daily Photo I knew what to post today. The boats on Vltava river I captured yesterday.
This is at the southern part of Prague called Branik. Not too far from Prague's center (a few stops by tram, actually). It was totaly devastated after floods few years ago and is one of the most beautiful places in Prague now. Well, it was popular place to spend a summerday in the first half of the last century - as is obvious from really old Czech movies.
This bay is used for fishermen's boats and there are tennis, volleyball and other playgrounds on the opposite side of the bay. Along with a kindof turists club's house - all in the style of that old movies, far away from a nowadays playgrounds and sports clubs. It has its own unique genius loci.
There's a lane for roller-skaters and for bicycles, too. Also one of the best in Prague and definitely one of the most romantic in Prague :) I'll post another picture of it later.
Oh, I almost forgot the big white boat in the background. You can go on a sightseeing cruise - short one from center of the Prague to the South and back, or to further places like Melnik (the junction of Vltava and Labe rivers). Or you can go to a boat party which are quite popular in Prague during summer :)
